You seriously think that China has become MORE communist since Mao died and that's why there's less poverty?
No, it's actually less Communist since Mao died but it's more than most countries. It's in the Capitalist cites where people continue to be impoverished.
bad food artificially cheaper by government. capitalists fault? agree that subsidies (like corn) are bad and should be removed.
Yes, corn farmers are Capitalists are they not? They lobbbied (bribed) Congress to grant them this subsidy. And other Capitalists profit with crap like HFCS, Corn Oil, milled corn, etc
First of all, society is structured in a way that you need a car to get around. Some people don't need to but most do. 2nd maybe people buy certain luxuries because their jobs suck.
Can you blame someone who's job sucks and they can't get another job anywhere else for buying a small luxury to ease the pain of their shitty life? I can't.
as for quality, people prioritize what they do in life. https://bch.gg/7c

WTF? Do you think China has become more or less capitalist over the last 40 years, while those 500 million Chinese people escaped poverty? Less communism = less poverty.
The Chinese have less poverty because they have less Capitalism. They only have Capitalism in a few cities while the rest is Socialist. So less Capitalism = Less Poverty
who bought the food? if these people aren't responsible for what they literally put in their mouth what will you hold them accountable for?!
have the time to cook it because they are working 8 hours a day making barely enough money to even keep a roof over their heads. It's the Capitalists I held accountable for this.
who bought the food? if these people aren't responsible for what they literally put in their mouth what will you hold them accountable for?!
You miss the point. Bad food is artificially made cheaper by the Government so that's all the working poor can buy. It's possible to buy better food for the same price but they don't..
person can be a healthy weight on twinkies and oreos. (& weight is the metric for health here). CICO https://bch.gg/7b
This story is highly skewed. It's true that coloric restriction can help reduce weight but eating only Twinkies and Oreos means he's lacking essential nutrients to be truly healthy.
Crony capitalism =/= capitalism. We are both opposed to crony capitalism.
Capitalism is cronys. The only ones in Capitalism that have any real power are the cronys. Thankfully we both agree that BCH takes power away from cronys.
My troll detectors are really going off here. You are an English speaker right? This isn't Google translate mangling what you are trying to say to make it incomprehensible.
Your troll detector must be faulty because I am talking scientific facts here. This video is regarding diabetes but is relevant to obeceity as well:
its one thing to open the cabinet & see no food. its another to see plenty of food and just eat all of it. the first could be argued to be someone else's fault.
What if the food in the pantry is all bad food and they don't eat all of it as once? And the only reason they only have bad food is because that's all they can afford. This is real.
"Venezuela is very much Capitalist right now..."
Dafuq?
Well what would you call it when a Socialist government is overthrown in a military coup and replaced with a dictator that supports Capitalism and takes a shit on the working poor?
Technically obesity is starvation. Our bodies run on complex carbs but we keep eating fats, starving ourselves of healthy carbs. So she's not wrong, and most people are starving.
Competition in the market prevents that. Unions are bloated bureaucracy. "They" took risks and built a company that I now work for. They do a lot more than "nothing".
Maybe Unions have bureaucracy but so do Corporations. And Corporations have a lot more bloat than Unions.

And yes it's true that they initially took risks to build the company but once they started growing larger, that's when they start doing less until they stop working all together.

DYK that Capitalists are actually Anti-Competition in the markets? Larger corporations push out the smaller guys until they are the only games in town for employment and purchasing.
Goods are also more expensive in US with inflation. Some goods (e.g. tech/moore’s law) get cheaper even with inflation.
Hence we're switching from USD to BCH and why Venezuelans are using BCH. And yes, Moore's law is great but Capitalism still make it hard to purchase cheap when 1st priority is food.
well really with parents who let them overindulge. Can’t really blame the kids.
Not blaming the kids, parents, or even the doctors. It's powerful industries that are selling bad food to parents telling them that it's good for them. And profiting from that.
But uptick this year. Also, are they including overweight children in their malnourishment stats? Agree it’s malnourishment but see it as less of an issue than starving.
In fact, more people are dying from bad food globally that starvation. So obesity might be the bigger issue. Not that either is more important than the other.

How is it less of an issue? You can certainly die from obesity. And what a waste of resources feeding people stuff that will kill them anyway. Doesn't really make sense to me.
thank you for providing a link (what shortener?). I was thinking of this plot showing poverty. seems malnutrition was trending downwards.
http://bch.gg That's still more than half of the world population living on $2 or less a day. If Capitalism is really helping why isn't it 0%? Even so, poverty != starvation
