While I agree with the first statement, I must challenge the second. Are there truly no taboo questions out there? Are there not various labels applied to people who ask such questions? Are said labels crafted to carry social stigma? Possibly even prison?

Yes, hyper focus on emotion has been a big meme coming out of corporate media for a decade or so. Noticed how speech patterns by characters in shows morphed from saying "I think that [blah]" to "I FEEL that [blah]"?
And now it's the conversational norm.
The current phase is implementation of "criticism = blaephemy" and "criticism = immoral".
