Maybe so. But I think Jimmy's point is valid that it's worth loving the "sinner" while not loving the "sin". At least that's how I choose to proceed with my loved ones. Sometimes things take time to evolve, including personal beliefs.
True, some definitely do hate truth it seems. Sadly. The other way I think of some of these interactions, other than not liking the suggestion of being conned, is that they are believers in a new religion and react poorly if their doctrine is under attack
I've had similar experience with loved ones and I'm not sure I'd dub it "people hate the truth" at this point.
