Last year BTC could only process a single transaction for $50.
Today BCH is processing 35,000 transactions for $50.
Then what accounts for the >8MB blocks that have been mined?
IIRC most miners cap at 8MB but some or one allow bigger?
Will it be possible for the stress test to broadcast enough transactions to fill up the mempool past 32mb?

Mempool over 40 meg an hour ago. Nearly empty now. The system works. Temporary use spike backlogs clear quickly when there is enough space.
BCH can suck all hashrate if it sustains high fee % to block reward AND high price action. That would freeze BTC network.
is everyone still alive? I heard big blocks would destroy bitcoin, but my funds are still safe and spendable

CoinEx is going to struggle to pull that off because there isn't going to be a fork, it's a hash war

Stress test day is a great opportunity to finally make a Memo account! Been putting this off for a while...
Evidence so far suggests that it does, but I personally feel the costs paid is too small and that eventually (if memo takes off) they will come here too.
Let them come, if they going to spam and pay fees for it, at least we get something back. Also who knows, maybe when we look back in many years, tipping 500 sats will be seen as a lot.
Some days I wish I could just drop everything and work on Bitcoin (BCH) related projects full-time.

Not that I know of. The main difference is IPFS like torrents requires altruistic seeders. Content can disappear if no one is seeding it, or have slow seeders. BCH will always be fast.
Users could even pay BCH so their content is well hosted (seeded) on IPFS. Since Memo is text it's worth the fee to put it on-chain and have it hosted indefinitely.
