4) If someone creates two books accidentally (won't be possible with the official client) it will only display the first one received, although if the last one is longer, theres issues

1) Author, title implemented, more metadata soon
2) HTML makes it more customizable
3) There'll be some protocol-level limitations on edits after a certain time, etc
replied 2076d
No plans to be anything else, and will of course have mobile apps and other things so you can read illegal and dangerous books anywhere in the world, comfortably, without censorship

Only it's specifically made for books and other "dangerous" text, and has no social media features. Designed for very comfortable reading using industry standard formats and fonts ;)

Easy, Bitcoin has op_return transactions which means it's already illegal in the EU under the GDPR. The US can pass a similar bill, and ban bitcoin by proxy
replied 2133d
So, not on the blockchain, if that's even possible, but will open-source a client to avoid reliance on domain names and servers
replied 2133d
It searches through blockchain OP_RETURN data and allows you to sort by most relevant (wip), recent, oldest, images, media (videos, etc) and lastly by protocol

Then memo would finally have all the features that I've been asking for since day one, and they only were open to after blockpress gave them some competition

So you're saying a community about a niche currency where you have to pay to post with that niche currency isn't a echo chamber?
replied 2184d

Memo is definitively a echo chamber, just like reddit/r/btc and any other service like it. Also blockpress was in development before memo, so if I was a dick I could say memo copied bp

Why are you so mad? Look at average interactions per post on memo vs blockpress, memo demolishes any shot this protocol had at making a solid community, now its just people like you

Blockpress has had more features than memo since day one, no playing catchup over here. Just don't want to adopt memo's anti-community features.

They were in development for a long time, not sure if they chose the same style separator for simplicity though, or if it was an afterthought. Blockpress has more protocol features tho

Data was given to us in the raw format it was when dumped in 2017. The account is also from 2007, and theymos had no reason to believe it would be breached 10 years later.
