It is written in the Canadian Human Rights law on hate speech, "Intent is not a requirement, and truth and reasonable belief in the truth is no defence."
Even if a statement is true, and even if you in addition have good reason to believe it to be true as well, it is no defense. Actually making truth illegal and intent irrelevant.

Allowing Nazis to spread hate is a bad idea and we shouldn't let them use free speech laws to reduce the freedom of others. Makes sense. But laws are just a fairy tale so it's moot.

I agree with the Tweet @LighRider, the problem with the Alex Jones de-platforming was that it was an coordinated effort from many competing sites, that is not a good sign at all.
Which is bad in general, but in the case of Alex Jones it had the double effect of giving him credibility (to those who see him as anything but an entertainer).
