But the world will have a larger carrying capacity due to higher productivity and more technology in agriculture and medicine, but humans are not on an upward trajectory overall.
Not a relationship between excellence & number of children but btw excellence & how much better off those children are.
People who excel get more resources/power have longer lives, healthier lives, have disproportionate control in the world. Sounds like better survival.
Intelligence has a slight negative correlation with number of offspring, but each offspring has a higher chance of success/survival.
Question is which of those properties that are strongest, and it looks to be that there are fewer offspring than increased survival offsets, at least for now.
But setting aside the ratios there is still an interesting process where the smart are getting smarter and the dumb are getting dumber, similar intelligence select for each other.
yeah we'll just have to wait & see if quality/quantity is stronger in this case. that is an interesting trend.
Genetic engineering and cybernetics will likely progress faster than evolution, but there will likely be a ever increasing split between the abilities of populations.
The concept of 'species' isn't a clear cut thing, and as humans tinker with themselves and other lifeforms it will get even more muddled.
do you know how different two organisms need to be to be considered different species? is it just genetic distances or do they take protein functions into account?
or is it still just mostly how things looks / phenotype?
thinking more of bacteria than animals
Taxonomy is a pragmatic field that is concerned with what we can do with the classifications, like most things in nature is works on a continuum with various cut-off criteria.
yeah, just wondering what the state of the art criteria are.
This video is a hodgepodge of random gotchas & dramatic music (jurassic park, lol 🦖). No analysis.
Sorry, that closing line, wat?! Unidentified stretchy material found after decalcifying bones is direct proof of there being a creator?! Talk about jumping to conclusions &
disregarding everything else. One unexplained result & we have to scrap everything? really thorough, neutral, analytical mind.
Looks like it stroke you a nerve. No lab ever dare to test Carbone 14 on soft tissue. Interesting isn't it?
I'm curious at how the internet allows people who would normally just be idiots to be so loud
striking a nerve is not proof the video is true (& I write paragraphs all over memo). & no C14 test is also not proof of the age of the samples. I ask again, how is C14 dating done?
