I think we are currently a Kardashev 0.7 civilization.
RE: post scarcity. I like that he expands human needs to include things like positive reputation & other abstract things. These are often overlooked.
Always say if we just lowered our needs/expectations (no internet, cell phone, medicine) we would be much nearer to post-scarcity.
I wish he would have touched on energy demands increasing to meet human desires (faster/farther travel, more complicated healthcare, exotic foods, etc.)
I find so many of his videos show how to meet vastly higher energy demands that it may have been glossed over. I think nearly limitless energy is required for post scarcity.
yeah, that's what I was really getting at, needing near limitless energy. he kind of touched on it by asking what you do if someone demands 1M cheesecakes immediately.
& he does also talk a lot about uploading minds / entering virtual worlds & mentioned that as a solution too.
