Maybe @RBC. Or the governments will continue to exploit their citizens and operate in the shadows forever.
Everything will be ruled by bitcoin, as much as everything is ruled by todays fake money paying the sockpuppet politicians
So when governments loose their power and people regain their power through bitcoin.
Privacy, Anonymity, all these topics will be irrelevant. We will just be free and we can do what we want :)
I have a hard time believing in Bitcoin as a government when no one has actually fleshed out the details of how that would work.
We will not use their fake passports anymore, we will have out identity on the blockchain.
Nobody will be the government
As people learned to communicate and connect we do not need a government anymore
Then who will pay for the roads?
We can make very very complex decisions today much better with voting mechanisms on the smart phones than any fake government can do
And the schools, and the rockets, and my senators filthy rich worry-free retirement???
Ok, to sum up. There will be fully public coins (BCH), fully private coins (CryptoNote) and hybrid coins (Zcoin, Zcash). Will there be governments 🤔? Nobody knows for sure...
My dream: once Zerocoin advances to implement trustless setup using Sigma protocol, and it is battle tested, Bitcoin Cash can upgrade to implement Zerocoin. A match made on heaven!
I believe that there will only be one coin (BCH) as this is a typical winner-takes-all market. Privacy features will be built on top of BCH, such as cashshuffle.
Privacy & Anonymity can make freedom of speech easier/safer(Satoshi?) I think with BCH having smart contracts, we may be able to build a smart contract mixer soon for easy privacy :)
I think it's worth looking at the other side of the coin. Having a public ledger that we can use to keep governments in line is a feature. we shouldn't sacrifice this.
an open public ledger has features "we the people" can use to keep the system honest and verifiable. Going dark takes that feature away.
we can "go dark" by using privacy features on top of a public ledger and keep the features of an open honest system, best of both worlds... we sacrifice nothing.
I get the gut feeling that maintaining the ability to use the open-ness against would be rulers will be a feature much used in the third world.
I hope the mixer comes soon,,, I would rather see that than "going dark" I think there is a downside to darkness. the collective "people" loose the ability to audit the governmen
"Having a public ledger that we can use to keep governments in line is a feature." That same feature can be used by the gov to keep the people in line.
" Going dark takes that feature away." I've already touched on this a bit. The powers that be will always find another way to go dark. Making ourselves vulnerable won't change that.
"the collective "people" loose the ability to audit the government" Yet the government looses the ability to audit and surveil the people.
"privacy features on top of a public ledger and keep the features of an open honest system," BCH is already a public ledger, thats set in stone no matter what.
"the open-ness against would be rulers will be a feature much used in the third world." If BCH was the only coin in the world, that might just work.
I agree government is about to change. I just think we should consider that maybe we shouldn't make everything dark, we should use these tools to watch the government
