@Silentsam I know Mars has higher gravity than Moon, i just did not make myself clear. I was saying Mars has lover gravity than Earth, so no problem with coming to its g well.

From just last week
2783d
Its still a gravitywell we could avoid. The moons is
2783d
enough of a gravity well as it is.Better to start the Dyson Swarm.

What is this silliness? SpaceX is a complete fraud. There's not going to be any colonization of Mars. Only brainwashed space religion nutters believe in that shit.
2783d
...ok
2783d
There is no such thing as a space religion. Science isn't about beliefs. It's about objective fact proven through reproducible experimentation and research.
2783d
Going to the stars is objectively good for humanity.
2783d
Once we attain the ability to reach for the stars, the constraints on space and resources on our species evaporate almost instantly once we get past Alpha Centauri.
2783d
Provided of course, that those resources can be transported in a timely manner and humanity doesn't grow too fast or beyond it's means.
2783d
The only question now is the morals. Are we obligated to maintain Earth? Are we obligated to solve the worlds problems before we consider exploring the stars?
2783d
Or can our time in space give us the tools we need to fix those problems in the long run anyway?
2782d
lol....we can't even get to the moon.
2782d
Start the Dyson Swarm. Become a K2 civilisation. Dismantle Murcury for material, and preserve Earth for posterity, if not strip it for parts.
2782d
We can get to the moon. We can do a lot. Who wants to fund it is the real matter.
2782d
it should be pretty lucrative... hopefully
2781d
It is lucrative. Large initial cost is the only problem. There is a space construction company already though. They hope to make a space station as an intermediary stop.
2781d
oh cool! haven't heard of it. link? they hope to build on the moon/mars?
2771d
They hope to build a space station in orbit around Earth. They want around fully commercial station for stopping in orbit before going to Mars, or the Moon.
2771d
Dammit, saw their website the other day and couldn't remember where you asked for the link. Should have been obvious it was this topic. I never remember their name.
2770d
lol, no worries. oh cool! hope they'll have a food court 😜 but srsly that sounds like a good first step to starting a business in space.

2632d
I've noticed the opposite.

Wanna know more about **Starlink** - unlikely space travel is on my time table ( like EVERRRR), so what is a difference between Starlink and OneWeb beside number of satellites?

Humans have failed to create sustainable closed ecosystems on earth so far....just sayin'

The only planet that does not need colon-ization is Uranus
