If the US military fell back to the coasts and boarders, and government was reduced to simply the military, could the US survive as an "anarcho"capitalist nation?
to be clear, in this scenario, there would be no legislative or judicial powers at the federal level, and we could say at the state level as well. perhaps a slow implimentation too.
Charles Murray makes the case that just changing the 2nd amendment a bit would have huge consequences for the relationship between the state/fed and within the state as well.
hmm interesting though about 2A. by changing 2A they'd encourage people to organize. though you can bet there'd be all kinds of restrictions on what a militia is & how they operate.
think removing gun laws, restrictions, & regulations would change the balance too.
Let individuals have whatever weapon they’d like to buy. When 2A was written citizens were equally armed as the military.
& to the topic thats the minarchist idea. just have gov for defense. idk if it would work. seems plausible. would have to keep gov small & in check though. idk how.
Constitution, even though it spelled out what the gov was responsible for & included checks still allowed current gov to grow so large.
i see the world in a sort of post-anarchy lense, once a big guy gets enough guns the show is over, and thats where we are today. I guess now the idea is less instating or enforcing
anarchy, but instead creating a change within government that will inevitably weaken it. just enough of a poison pill to keep them on the back foot as they slowly fade
like that idea. kind of a "starve the beast" method. & companies like uber just disregarding laws. not sure if it's getting weaker though.
