Well we can't store images on the blockchain yet until someone comes up with a way to store / retrieve images on it (a new file format with better compression perhaps?)
This idea is ingenious though, but it would just be a forum basically (since can't post images yet apart from external hosts)
What would be cooler is Steemit or Reddit but for Bitcoin Cash
Images would be highly compressed or stick figures, each KB costs a bit over 1000 sat to store with, a standard 100kb image would cost about a dollar.
Like the idea of storing images on the blockchain, cryptograffiti.info is a way to store images on chain but it is very cost-inefficient as it encodes images using dust.
Why do you want to put images into the blockchain? Why not just the hash?
Because the image can be taken down, all the hash can prove is if an image has been altered, technically we could just create hashes of a regular forum board insted of memo
How is this different from Memo + IPFS?
4chan needs to be aware of memo.
Even a Yatsuba theme for memo would go a long way.
good idea hillaryclinton! yeah, why wouldn't memo & IPFS work? (there was talk about using both for torrents like 3 months ago?)
not to store on chain but to store images off chain with hashes or links on chain?
if image upload were easier would this work?
memo made a thread a couple days ago discussing IPFS integration (I think) and the ability to write infinitely long (as much as you can afford) comments on memo.
yeah caught the end of it. lots of good ideas going around. dont understand databases enough to contribute. :(
Being active here is plenty of contribution;) Communities can do without good databases, but great databases do do much without a community.
lol thanks. we'll get the memes of production going
