I don't see an option to send a simple BCH transaction to another BCH address. How come?
I'd like to send some BCH to my scale.cash wallet, but tip is all I do?

Yes, but that exposes the key to additional parties and requires using another application
Understood ... ideally it would be an option. Though, I don't think the implementation would have anything to do with the memo protocol: just the web front-end.
