That same logic is used by people who think backdoors are okay if only the cops can use them.
My point is that an open and view-able blockchain is a feature that only works one way. We can vote to make governments use public addresses, while we use coinjoin.
I have a hard time believing in Bitcoin as a government when no one has actually fleshed out the details of how that would work.
