making another wallet would not fix this, there are certainly things I would want to see done differently in a wallet, but the main issue in BSV right now is the need for "meta-wallets" to handle onchain ID & signing complex transactions from all wallets
Your app would still be accessible but the reach would be lower
It's not so much about the apps being displayed, but about apps being usable with any wallet & wallets focusing on serving (& earning from) their users, to keep good incentives
haha sure, I have my doubts on this too, I don't doubt that handicap strategies are used in nature, but that they can be transferred in that way to value content leaves me dubitative. But it can certainly play a role in preventing spam to some extent
is that why wallets focus on API today ? to sell pricing plans for their API? but that means users of a bitcoin wallet are not their clients, but devs are
that's the kind of old models I want to avoid, like twitter's real clients being advertisers
This could be read as an attack on current wallets but it couldn't be further from that and I hope you and others read it in a positive way, especially as wallets are best positioned to lead on this vision
What is needed is a non custodial and open protocol that will work with any wallet to act as a bridge for paying for complex transactions, for allowing users to own their identity, and for paying with bitcoin on all the apps of the ecosystem
We are recreating silos where each wallet will have its own appstore curated by the wallet
So apps that bring more revenue to the wallet will sort higher, not the ones that most benefit the users, because users are stuck in a network effect prison
