divergence of legal, economic & security models has escalated since he said that; things are different now... Amaury is changing validation-rules more often than socks
can you be certaint that those rules are actually applied on the network?
Just because a developer writes code, doesn't mean miners automatically validate using it.
I made a design for somebody in Fivebucks.com but he didn't pay me, this app shold have a better payment system for who sells his work, practically. I made a free design for him... named nilspim
This is inaccurate, the buyer paid and also left you a 5 star review. There is a 5 day safety clearance period on Fivebucks, please read our Terms of Use.
Update: Alberto was always paid, he simply had to wait for the money to clear. While in safety clearance (5 days) the money appears under 'selling' > 'revenue' > 'in escrow'
I'm curious what it was like for those of you involved during the block size debate. I wonder how the debate within BCH now compares. Does it have a similar feel?
the BCH "civil war" debate, feels very similar to the *early* blocksize debate. That is a good thing, during early blocksize debate multiple solutions were offered - but none taken.
What about it? It was offered as a scaling solution, but the goalpost kept shifting. Those who looked carefully knew all along segwit would never solve scalability. Now everyone knows.
I reduced my 4 hour instruction to people about what is Bitcoin to “It’s like money.” And when pressed further for details I respond “it’s, it’s just like money.”
This approach is crucial. We need to focus on utility, explain "what you can do with BCH" instead of "what BCH is". After using it, the curious ones can dig deeper & learn the rest.
It’s so important to keep simple. I think I’m going to have to tell newbies it’s just money. We don’t discuss the ink on a dollar bill. We just pass it around as money.
Exactly, >people don't care about the Fed/CBs, they just want good money. Refer newbies to Fivebucks too, it's a fun way to learn. They can earn or buy cool stuff in BCH for only $5.
Fivebucks is under attack and we have temporarily shut down the site for security reasons while we work to fix the root issues. Sellers' earnings are safe.
Could this be a solution to ddos attacks? Requiring a Satoshi to login would make ddos attacks pretty expensive.
Sadly, no. You can still initiate a request to login, and not complete it, to consume server resources. Repeat as fast as needed to consume all resources on the server.
Final worklow, with memo.cash as example:
user visits memo.cash. scans CashID code, logs in. memo.cash create child keys, user use CashID to sign them, memo.cash can now post for user
If I understood this right, then my only complaint on memo.cash (that I am not in control of my own keys) is finally solved - and with a userfriendly design!
Nice. How about adding #video support? I guess with some external hosting like #ipfs?
A translation of satoshis into USD might be useful too. Do I send donations via the #memo tip jar?
Video support is planned. IPFS is currently the top choice for hosting. USD translations would be good. Thanks for the input. Yes, tipping is a great way to donate :)
