I watched The Natural (spoiler alert) with my daughter last night. And, I can’t help but think we might be living in an alternate universe, except instead of Roy Hobbs beating the likes of the corrupt Judge, Gus, Memo and Max with a walk off home run, the movie ends with him striking out or taking the money. This movie had such a profound impact on me growing up. It probably led to me taking paths that were probably not the most lucrative, but I can sleep at night. I don’t think I can say the same for society.
