That is also true. But in my opinion, we are at the point where climate change is developing faster than our technology. We need to neutralize its speed or at least slow it down.
Who decides how that money is spent? What mechanism exists to keep them from becoming corrupt? Until those questions are answered the answer is no.
The funds are then invested on tree planting projects and forest conservation projects. All transactions are 100% transparent and verifiable.
