So you know their battle plan then? What if they use a war of attrition approach atm until unprofitable mining is reduced more and then attack? Or maybe they still gather their forces?
Everyone seems to think they have to reorg the whole chain. Why do people think that? Reorg like 10 blocks (repeatedly?), and already you have done much damage. Miners miss rewards etc
A short re-org attack, if worked on by enough hash to matter, would've already materialized.
Hey why is ABC hashrate still so high despite being 140% more profitable to mine BTC? SV's rate is low to match the price...why not ABC? Are they....scared?
Miners value things in multiple timescales and they are clearly signalling their valuation by not going back to BTC despite being 500,000 exahashes ahead.
Ok, I've written up a public document with some overall goals and some specifics - https://medium.com/@freetrade68/member-css-project-99bdd622314b - further chat on pm at twitter?
Yes, we both are probably more active on twitter and twitter does have DM functionality :)
Yes, initially I had copied the hacker news HTML and CSS but I think it's a good idea to replace with a better HTML structure too.
Good. I am fluent in CSS2/3, HTML4/5, XHTML1 and used to working with user interface design. Let's talk design goals / vision so I can better translate idea to reality.
antpool.com hash charts show that some of their hashing power is still ploughing through on BCH though, i wonder for how long. And all of that for mining empty blocks?
The next step in insuring victory in the hash war is to keep your hash equal such that the price does not recover to profitability for your opponent. Both sides will od this.
But with split tickers the price will be held down for awhile because people will be buying one and selling the other depending on how the war is going.
They could just buy both.ABC price + BSV price = current BCH price which will remain depressed until this war is settled.
I don't see how that is possible given the checkpoint defense set up on ABC.. if you understand how please explain
It is still possible to mine an empty block chain from the checkpoint and forward. I still don't think they have the hashpower required to do it, and the incentives are misaligned.
How does DSV aid this goal? Or is the goal of BCH to become world money and world smart contract platform? I don't recall reading about the latter part in the white paper..
By allowing more control of how to use your own money, thus making your money more useful.
Bitcoin is programmable money - DSV is just a way to program that money.
ABC is not superior. SV is a very competitive implementation, designed to be a bridge between the old traditional financial markets and the blockchain driven ecosystem of tomorrow.
what code in the implementation has changed that makes it better for this?
