So much we didn't know back then as a "community" and on an individual level. We are far better off today, but the starting point is terrible as well with BTC still growing with more speculation (IMO it's so far from being a good asset for wealth storage).
You likely had to be early to be able to do this. I didn't make 1 million $. Many didn't know best safekeeping practices or thought of holding it for years. What is more importantly is that many lost a lot (PK's, passwords & forgotten wallets on HDD's).
