Valis is by far the best in that trilogy imo the only really notable one of the three - and no, they can be read on their own they link up more in themes than plot
I was never a 4channer for example - but there is value to the fact that a niche online community is able to create waves in mainstream media (usually through trolls and elaborate pranks) due to their ability to analyze and predict cultural relevancy

I think the idea of influencers producing content here first would create a strong incentive for anyone interested in catching cultural waves before anyone else

Grew up to my father watching this on repeat - it was always a psychedelic dream sequence to me then, I never got it as a kid. Now I hum the theme song in my head. Terry Gilliam is always very tough around the edges but also always worthwhile
