IMO, assuming most tx are inter exchange transfers, hash-rate flippening happens when (1) Block reward becomes nominal and (2) all exchange transfers go over lightening -- if it works.
I think it would nice to set a reminder for things like this. I wonder, can I tip to my own address or this post with a time-lock so that I get a notification back on the right date?
I paid to transaction-accelerator service by ViaBTC (I think) in BCH to get my BTC transaction confirmed quickly. Ahh....those days in 2017 really sucked.
"The attack was supposed to make everyone think hard forks are dangerous. The fact that we're on the other side of this even with a bug makes me feel hard forks are less dangerous because even when "something goes
Also, I think hardforks inherently build cooperation among developers, miners and the community overtime. Which is a good thing. Without hardforks developers and miners don't interact.
Folks, lets take time to show some appreciation to ABC team. They quickly subverted an attack on BCH today. Show them our support. Here is their address bitcoincash:qqeht8vnwag20yv8dvtcrd4ujx09fwxwsqqqw93w88
The protocol only shuffles once though, automatically, correct? It does not shuffle already-shuffled coins from what I’ve seen...
Yeah, that seems to be the case. I have the app running with shuffling turned on for couple of days now, but it doesn't shuffle already shuffled coins.
What does the BTC transactions traffic represent? Are they mostly inter-exchange transfers or something else? If they are inter-exchange transfers, confirmation times must be painful to the trades. What else is it?
What is Ayre and CSW planning for the next hardfork? They can't just sit idle, they must have a new trick or their chain will have nothing new and will increasingly become more outdated.
About 300 BCH nodes running are still incompatible with May 15th upgrade rules. I strongly suspect they will not be upgraded and cause a silent fork.
Time for another change of topic for my next Monday Memo. Maybe something to do with recreation. Yes, that'll do.
If you're into hiking like I am, try taking new paths or trails from time to time.
Every time you go on a hike, may be should take a picture and post them to memo. May be start a hiking-memos channel for all hikers on memo :)
I think they will try to abuse the checkpointing feature added by ABC to split the chain and then make a drama that ABC devs are incompetent or bad for BCH.
