Have you looked into going to help with eatBCH? I don't know how far they are away from you but i wonder if they are looking for volunteers, supporting people far and wide etc.

Automating jobs is great, problem is we have too much unskilled labor and each automation crunches job opportunity further down and down. Those in the unskilled camp can't afford education.
There is a difference, to me at least in being paid $4 per hour for full time (40 hr wk) and $7+/hr. Companies that don't pay enough to support standard of living will encounter friction.
Employers take that to heart now. Larger companies, like Amazon, who wield the State's power are able to get away without caring for employee happiness, however.
UBI, if privatized really shouldn't be called a UBI at that point. And it should never subsidize unproductivity. Only people who work.
If the UBI is forced by a government rather than the free market, it is immoral, unethical, bad economically, and socialistic.
There is a saying, "Happy wife, happy life" that employers could take to heart. Happy employees makes for a more productive company.
At which point, it's not UBI. It's just companies doing what they are supposed to do. Maintaining the workforce and preventing anger/suffering.
I don't think the government should hand money to people for doing nothing. Only people who work should get paid. If a UBI sort of think is ever done, it should be companies paying fair wage.

I agree but instead of AI I prefer emergent market-driven intelligence. Political centralization is too dangerous. Bad record of famines and mass murder.
