Instead of only like, how about smileys such as interesting, fun, sad, troll. Than we could find most fun post. If so, what categories should there be?
There is tippr and chaintip. Manipulation / censorship probably coming to memo also (once popular, karma must be used). Reddit knowing you vs the whole world knowing - which is better?
If you start using chaintip or tippr to normal people they will probably close your account. If you have real name on Twitter whole world knows too. Most don't care.
In a topic you can not like or tip a post without first clicking on it, than having to go back to the topic. Makes posts in topics receive less tips and likes.
As time goes on, much functionality of memo will be off-chain, with just the raw content of the messages embedded in the blockchain. At that point, wouldn't it just be reddit without privacy?
Reddit has a huge problem with vote manipulation, censorship and you can't earn anything for posting quality content. Reddit probably know it's you posting.
Wonder if when you mention someone by username with an @ symbol, there could be a notification? It's pretty hard to keep track now, and it would generate a lot more traffic.
I like using memo, but if the amount doesn't get replenished somehow I'll just go back to reddit. The current tipping structure just rewards yes men also - some rewards should be automated.
Try posting regularly some original quality posts. With great content. See what happens. I don't think I have seen any such post yet.
Got a few other things we're working on first, but it's planned. Thanks for letting us know your interest, we'll see if we can this bumped in priority.
Don't over estimate surveys. They are not often used on for example Twitter. If the survey could be loaded with coins that's another thing. Paying people to take the survey.
