Nice! I’m sad that I never got to see the Black Crows. It’s hard to believe I missed em. I went to a lot of shows in the 90s
I was on holiday in DC several years ago. Some guy walks up with a Wheel barrel full of Microsoft shirts. Gives my wife and I a shirt and says. Do you like Weezer? They are about to go on stage in this theater. Go on in. They rocked! Great memory!
Raspy is a good word for it. Wish I had taken more before photos. I had actually cleaned it up some when I took that photo.
I put each HB on a push-pull pot that splits the the coils. It ha a classic single sound while split and a wicked growl when humbucking. It’s a cool resto-mod now with some modern features. Fun project.
Check out this 60s 335 copy I restored for my brother in law. It’s a Jap model called Kimberly. Someone sawed out the neck pup and glued a block of wood inside to mount a HB. So I dressed up their work and sawed out the other one too. It plays real nice.
