That’s awesome. A 335 is a sweet guitar. I was looking at a studio model a while back and never pulled the trigger. I have a couple hollow bodies already and just couldn’t justify it at the time. One day…..
Wow, I’m surprised. It pays to check the easy things first. I guess there is an inconsistency in the diameter or something. Makes me wonder if I’ve ever overlooked such a thing and did a bunch of needless set up.
I like using a notched straight edge to make sure the neck is flat. Some say they don’t use them and the fret tops are where you should check the flatness but I like seeing how flat the finger board is too. More info is better IMHO. Feeler gauge helps too
A fret rocker is essential. I would probably measure the action and neck relief with strings on, then experiment with raising the action if it’s real low, then loosen the strings and adjust the neck flat and re-rocker. It’s sort of a feeling out process.
It’s almost like those bigger companies don’t want to stray too far from their bread and butter. It’s a risky proposition changing things up. At least it leaves room for competition.
I found that you need to log out of the Twetch every now and then or your account may get locked up and stop you from telling everyone about a sweet new guitar that needs to be known about. Lesson learned. The Strad Tele:
