They don't filter special characters, just strip <script> tags and other malicious tags. So you can do <font> tags, <video> and everything else you can imagine. Just like myspace

Memo was first to market, so more known
Blockpress, Blockbook, Blockblog... there will be many, but Memo is just one
BP actually started before memo was released
