I see absolutely no logical reason for him to scam, as the total satoshi he will get tipped on his original topic post will be no where near the total amount he has already tipped.
He's literally donated millions of satoshi to people the past few days. Often giving multiple 200,000 satoshi tips to different people at a time, also 1 million and a 5million tip.
Total follower count could also maybe be a factor.
Some potential safeguards against cheating the system could be - badges only given to members with a specific transaction amount (e.g. over 100) as well as 30 days after their join date.
