Bonsai is an art anyone can enjoy if you simply desire to keep a plant in a pot. It does not matter if it is 1,000 dollars or 1 dollar as long as you desire to cultivate a plant you like :)
The tree in your picture is probably worth thousands. The bougainvillea I own were about 20 bucks haha.
Looks like a variety of bougainvillea. That's a wonderful bonsai. I own a bougainvillea that has purple flowers.
