Your style reminds me of Japanese City Pop/Big band stuff from the 80s. Cool stuff.

Not sure about this one yet. Maybe it could be styled as a cascade or cliffside bonsai?

Now for a bonus post. I choose this Juniper because it had a very interesting shape to me. Note the hard leaning angle and fat trunk.

Rough styling is now finished. There's still some work to be done; however, with the right pot and a good looking lava rock, this Juniper will be ready to be a small bonsai.

One technique commonly used is to cover the part you wish to cut. By blocking out a section with your hand, you get a better idea of the tree may look like after the cut.

Not bad so far. Looking much more tree like!

Already looking much better. Looks like there's another small branch to cut on the right hand side.

I cut the branches that hang/grow on the lower side of primary branches. This cleans up the sightline and helps show the trunk better.

In this case I choose to style from the angle of the OP angle. The shape is nice and there's a little root flare at the base of the tree (as seen in the below photo). Both aesthetics are desirable when shaping a tree.

It's good to look at the tree from all angles. Ideally choose the side that shows the most aesthetics that favor the plant. You want to accentuate the plants tree like appearance.

Working on a styling tutorial for you guys. It won't be anything overly in-depth. Just some before and after photos with some quick tips. These Junipers looked ideal for some shaping.
