That's cool. I don't know much about videography. Good choices on the lenses. Sometimes I see good deals on used cine lenses pop up for cannon. My main gear was cannon so I can say you will probably be pretty happy with your choice.
I sold all my Cannon/Olympus gear/telephoto lenses and bought a Sony A7s ii. Just going to have 18, 55, and 75mm primes only. Might get a macro for frogs but i'm trying to keep it simple.
Still enjoy birds but I realized photographing them is no longer fun. In my life such thoughts are often a sign change needs to occur. Will likely buy some binoculars to still enjoy observing them.
2024 is the year of action. I have decided to completely cash in all my photography gear and downsize to a smaller simpler setup. Will be moving on to lowlight street/liminal space type photography. Doing this will afford me the finances to travel more again. Something I've wanted to do since I was divorced in 2017, but was unable to, due to the currents in the river of life.
A combination of twetch and the pandemic are what started me down this path. It helped to reinvigorate a passion that had previously settled into the doldrums of life's schemes. This will be my last bird/wildlife post on twetch. Some careful consideration was made. I have chosen my favorite osprey from the local park I birdwatch at. A repost for sure but arguably one of the best photos I've ever taken.
As for the account I haven't decided yet if I want to simply rebrand it or start a new one. I like the idea of leaving this as a marker; for an era of my life that is coming to a close. A ...
