All this fork bullshit has me sad walking around in my bitcoin cash shirt today knowing in a few days there might not be a bitcoin cash. Only Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin SV.
Why are you already sad? CSW said he would drag the war out for 2 years if needed. That is equivalent to this outcome, so was to be expected, was it not?
Very very confused. Coinex says my BCH is BCHABC. Then where is my BCH? Who told them to turn into BCHABC ? Polionex has 3 coins: bch, abc and sv. SV is winning the hash war but it has small value compared to abc.
Users/the market vote with their money, thereby deciding miner's profit.
Exactly, that's how astroturfing can indirectly affect the miners. That's why you see these scorched earth Narratives. They're trying to get ppl to sell/buy to influence mining.
Epic Bitcoin Crash
Today the price of bitcoin lost over 10%, it plummeted by $1000. Chris Karabats and I chat about possible causes and future price movements.
I guess that fear of volatility is a driving factor here. As the BCH hashwar escalates BTC might trigger another fee event and bot trading acts on such data without understanding it.
I'm currently working on a redesign of the identity manager to include wallet functions, so that I can showcase functions that relate to it without needing to rely on an external wallet for support.
Recovering stale coins is FUD. He means that decades from now, Moore's law will eventually make it financially feasible to brute force "mine" keys encrypted with current algorithms.
There are more than one way to handle that scenario. One could very publicly "sunset" (to use his own words) the systems and then lock them down.
He wants to acquire full control of BCH through a hostile takeover, I don't think it will work, but it sure as hell doesn't help the BCH community right now
You know what that doesn't help the BCH community? Exchanges like uphold that don't upgrade to the new Cash Address format. It took me 20 minutes to withdrawal my funds to a privatekey
A lot of people on the ABC side think Bitcoin is a failed project if CSW and Ayre get SV with hash power. Personally I'm on the ABC side, but I see Bitcoin as a very successful ......
... project if they win with hash power. This doesn't mean they will win forever just because they do this time. Proof of work FTW!!!
how removing anonymity?
P2SH wasn't part of the original, so it makes sense. All the other things don't make sense at all.
How has not been specified. Just a clarification that they want pseudonymity only because anonymity enables lawbreaking and they want to build to cater to current law.
If SV/CSW manages to take over BCH I will loose faith in Bitcoin as a concept and will be looking to reduce my position. I think many feel the same as me...
it seems that some forces are trying to divide the community, make us forget about what unites us and what we believe in... hard times happen. don't give up :)
Sure - but I see ABC's roadmap as critical optimizations in order to scale to terrabyte blocks.
i agree. i think we need to do some optimizations before we lock the protocol. definitely agree with SV team that we should do that, but not before the timing is right.
Rightly, as they invested most. This is how system is designed. Do more POW and outcompete them.
As much as we hate it when it isn't for the team we root for, you r right. This is how the system should work. If it fails then so be it. May you have good fortune in the wars to come.
If anyone has a link they can share of a Q&A style video on SV plans that isn’t a “sales pitch” I would really appreciate it. I’m so confused on what SV actually plans on doing
(cont).. implement DSV opcode as a miner-fee code so any use of it on ABC side results in miner fees and lots and lots of other things.
