Encrypting provides confidentiality and some authentication but does not address things like forward secrecy or repudiation.

Please don't consider that a secure means of communicating. There are many issues with simply encrypting a message.

Yes, but I would claim that it is partly their fault that Bitcoin is not more adopted in the mainstream. They use it as a an excuse to not scale Bitcoin instead of making it great.

lol, afaik there never was a mute function on memo itself. you had to use memo++ but idk if it's been updated.
If one gets added, I hope it’s client side only. Broadcasting a mute would let the person know the posts become ineffective so they change identities.
