I bought that link for $57 + change, and I heartily thank everyone who donated. I am going to buy more links and hopefully write an article.
I just want to make sure everyone understands. It's totally okay and aboveboard to read the pdfs. It's totally not okay to sell them (like I tried to do before I realized my error) and it'...
I am so glad that lightrider hates BSV. Eventually his coins will run out of unspent BSV outputs and he will continue his shitposts on memo.cash only. Thank god! This is one of the very very few positives of the split.
Tonight is a very depressing night. Nothing seems to be going my way. I was stressed out before dinner, but now I am even more stressed out and sleepless. arggh
In order to make alliances, it is necessary to give concessions to others so that the network can be appealing to more people. Having solved the Byzantine General's problem does not make building alliances obsolete. In fact, it is much easier to provide concessions because the expectation of reciprocation that much more likely.
I am not in the industry, but this is cool. I have been buying a lot of https://cutiescitrus.com recently. Easy to peel, cheap, and a nice balance between pulpy and sweet. Other brands have (so far) not been as satisfactory.
Signing into Memo from a new laptop. I am fascinated at the changes within myself in the last few months. It almost seems like I am a brand new person. Am I very happy about this? Not necessarily. I see it as a natural change, but if I were to assign a value to it, I would count it as negative. Perhaps it is just nostalgia, but I do feel like I am getting older! I won't interrogate it too much. Really, it's that this system is pretty well designed. Sloppy on the details but not too many exploits.
I watched the "Darkest Hour" "Green Book" "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" and "Johnny English" on the flights between Korea and the US. They were all great movies.
I have been reading a lot of the Bible recently. Specifically John 1, Ecclesiastes, and Job. Mostly using the KJV audiobooks on Youtube. Job is still mostly opaque to me, especially since it is so long and I keep losing focus near the end. John 1 is beautiful and speaks to me much more than the Paul stuff. I really would like to read more of John's words, but alas they are lost in the wind.
But Ecclesiastes stays with me, resonates in my mind and ear. (1:2) "Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity." It is, at first glance, nihilistic, but at another, humbling (2:16) "And how dieth the wise man? as the fool."
Today is a holiday - 설날 - Relaxing after sleeping in. The sound of welcome rain drums a beat to my reverie. Soon, my worries will be washed away and the new year can begin in earnest.
I definitely enjoy the freedom of writing without being concerned about the length. That being said, being forced to be concise is often a powerful incentive to write better. I think that is why Twitter was a success.
I am going to start posting on sv.memo.cash. This way I do not have to try and curtail my thoughts to an arbitrary number of characters.
Of course, I am sure many of my memos will still be short enough to have been possible on abc.memo.cash, but now I have the benefit of not having to worry about it.
This split... it really makes me sad. We were all on the same side at one point. Even the capitalism debates were exciting because there was a sense of shared values.
It feels like the end of a relationship. Nothing but regrets and scars. Even the best memories are tainted by the smear of anger and derisive laughter.
I just enabled big memos. It is an interesting change. Twitter was successful because of (or despite?) its restrictive short form. I did always feel like the previous memos were too short. So this is great for me.
If there is a way to embed unique identifiers into every cigarette, connect it to the pack, which is then connected to the merchant, which is then connected to the buyer.... boom, no one can "carelessly" throw butts.
I hate trash. I want to build a system of IOT on Metanet-- the Internet of Trash. People will be so much more responsible about their trash if every can was connected to their credit card. No cigarette butts anywhere.
I am moving to a 1 bedroom for the first time next year. First time without a roommate and on my own! Scary and exciting. The rent is pretty fucking high though.
Stop hitting people over the head with facts. BCH people will start to listen once the accumulated POW flippens and BSV is the longer chain. We can only hope that this happens soon.
This place is awful now. Everyone thinks they know best and everyone else is a sock puppet, lazy, or a fucking idiot. It's a war zone and it's gonna get worse.
